will a 97 coupe oem exhaust fit on my 98 hatch? and is the cat on the manifold on the coupe's?

 

The coupe and hb exhausts are different. But the exhaust manifold should be the same if it's from the same engine. (D16Y8/EX manifold and D16Y7/LX are different) Although you can put a Y7 manifold on a Y8, I don't recommend it.
