i have an OEM fog light switch with a few inches of wire, couldnt find anything in the FAQ about what wire does what


black w/ yellow stripe
blue w/ yellow stripe
black
red w/ black stripe
red

 

ok well i discovered that the black to ground, red to interior power and red w/ black to fogs allows the fogs to work, however, i cannot get the switch to illuminate or the icon to light up to show they are on. I also discovered that the pig tail that came with the switch appears to be the same one on the defrost switch which means im working with incorrect colors, sweet.

i figured it out in case anyone is interested here is the read out, I'm unsure as to what the actual color of the wires coming from the switch should be, but the rear defrost plug works fine and those are the colors in ( )

from top to bottom
1- (black w/yellow) on/off amber indicator bulb (piggyback to a ignition on source)
2- (blue w/ yellow) power to fog light
3- (black) ground
4- (red w/black) interior light (piggy back to red wire on dash harness)
5- (red) interior light (piggy back to red w/ black stripe wire on dash harness)

only side note, which i see as a positive, is that the fog lights can now run independently of the parking/headlights. So I can have the fog lights on w/out any other lights
