1993 honda accord transmission problem
I have never had this happen to me before. I was driving home on the freeway and all of a sudden it felt like the car went into neutral. I had some power, but it was like it just lost the gear it was in revving the engine high. WhenI shift to D3, D4 which was the gear I was in, stays lit up as well as D3. Also if I shut the car down for a couple of minutes, and start it again, I can drive for about a block or two and everything is ok. Right after that it does it again. Same thing over and over. I checked the fluid while the car was running, and the level was ok. Does anyone know what could cause this???????? Please help!

I checked it while it was off, and I do not have any check engine light on. I have noticed that the cruise control seems to work intermittantly also. I don't know if this is related or a whole seperate problem. Possible the tranny speed sensor?
I just got off the phone with a transmission guy and he told me something in the tranny blew up and shreds of metal are blocking the filters while it is running. When the car is off the metal falls out and settles causing it to be ok for a minute till the filters get blocked again. Thanks for your help! Time for a new car.
