I got home from class today, armed my car and went inside. Half an hour later my alarm goes off and I hear my 12's bumping! I'm like wtf!??! My key wasn't in the ignition. It won't turn off unless I take off the face of my head unit. Something is giving it constant power out of the blue. So I started my engine and turned it off...everything shuts off. 20 minutes later **** goes off again cuz my system's bumping again!? What the heck? Anyone know what's the problem? I'm thinking it might be my ignition, but why does it turn on out of nowhere? Help me out guys, thanks.

 

So you say your face is getting constant power? sounds like you have a wire crossed somewhere. Check the wiring to your headunit and you should find the problem.

 

not for sure if this is the problem but i would check to see if your car falls under the ignition switch recall if so this is probly your problem, or as said above check your wires

 

No, it's gets constant power out of nowhere, that's why the radio turns on and my alarm goes off. It doesn't have CONSTANT power, I wired everything myself 4 months ago, I'm sure I didn't mess up. So basically what happens is I turn off my car, arm it, about 20-30 mins later my music turns on and my alarm goes off.

 

thats would freak me out...

with my moms old cherokee, out of the blue the alarm would go off, at stop lights on teh highway, whereever....wierd ****

 

sounds like a bad ground to me.. check all the wiring, and make sure it was done correctly..

maybe ur radio power (red) is hookerd up to the battery and the memory (yellow) is hooked up to ur accessory

 

hehee mad wierd, 1 a ghost, 2 remote power wire?? 3 bad ground?!....

 

This only happen twice yesterday. I installed my system months a months ago ago and everything works fine. So I know it's not installation. Don't scare me with the ghost ish!

 

you got your stock head unit? plug it up and see if it happens again? maybe your headunit is haywire?
