Default LC-1 Wideband, Moates Burn2, Hulog, Uberdata/crome/freelog? Newb.

I have a 93 cx w/b18b OBD1, forged internals, LS trans, small turbo, wastegate at 7psi, 450cc dsm injectors/resistor box, aem fuel rail, walbro 255, p05 chipped.

So I'm new to all this. Gotta start somewhere though. I would like to street tune the ecu. I plan to buy an Innovative lc-1 wideband to datalog the afr with logworks. I assume I need another program to read and modify the sst 27sf512 chip with the Moates Burn2 reader/burner. And the Hulog also does datalogging from the ecu? I am not sure what I need and what I will be able to do with it.

If these are the products I need then what are the steps? I need a walk through for beginners because that's what I am. Things like: There's 2 datalogging capabilities right; for different things? One with the lc-1 and one with the Hulog. Which one to use or is it both? How to read and use the information from the datalog? Which program(s) work best for my set up? Which base map and how to get started in the right direction? How to set to non-vtec if needed and set for my engines max rpm? Which program(s) to use and when? Does anyone have a picture of what it might or should look like; pics always help.

I appreciate informative advice. Thanks

I think you need to visit the FAQ thread at the top of the page and see how many of your questions get answered by reading.

You basically just asked how to tune and setup the ecu from scratch. So check that thread out first then ask any further questions you have.

Thank you. I have been there before and I have read a lot of it; some of it a few times. I'm gonna get the lc-1, the burn2 and the hulog. It didn't have a o2 sensor when I bought the car, so I'll need one of those. I have on order all the before mentioned items. Can't wait to get started.

Also, on my p05 the RM11 spot has had the resistors added and I think it has replaced an oem part. I thought this was for adding Vtec to non-Vtec ecu.?

I'm still confused on one part of tuning. When using Uberdata/crome, how do I know to adjust the cell up or down? How do I pinpoint the fuel needed at each cell? Do I just want it not to run lean? Here's what I think: when the information is logged across the rpms it will show afr in each cell. Then I should adjust to make sure it's not lean first. Then work my way down to ideal afr at each cell. How do I determine this "ideal" afr, especially given it's boosted? Is there some known afr I should be at in boost?

For your computer software to see which point you're at in your maps (Crome/Uber... btw consider getting eCtune or NepTune instead) you need a datalogger and a live-tuning option in the software.

Read up on each software to see which might be best suited for you.

Once you've done that and you're getting ready to tune, read more about HOW to tune. There are so many sites and threads out there, you're better off just searching for faster answers. There are many sites that will tell you what AFRs to aim for at which loads and why. Many others will also tell you about ignition tuning and how critical it is for making power.

If you're the reading type, go buy this book as a start. I've read it many times and still reflect on it.
http://www.amazon.com/Modify-Managem.../dp/0760315825

Once you've done that, then start playing around with your car and learning.

Just make sure you ALWAYS HAVE A KNOCK LISTENING DEVICE ON WHILE TUNING and you really can't cause too much damage.

So does this ecu look to be wired for vtec? It seems to have all the components added as instructed for the vtec conversion -- http://mycomputerninja.com/~jon/www....1720-1500.html
