I am trying to get a built H22 shipped. In my past experiences I have payed about $40 to ship a head and about $130 to ship the bottom end on a palette. For some reason I am now getting ridiculously high quotes... some over $500 to ship a complete motor from valve cover to oil pan, on a palette, shipping freight.
What is the approximate weight of a complete h22? It does not include the manifold, engine harness or anything else besides the motor. What are some of the prices you guys have seen for shipping? Who would you recommend? Thanks.

About $250 for a full motor with intake manifold was how much I paid for my jdm h22a. I know the weight for the complete motor without accessory pullies which is about 225-230lbs w/ upper portion of header, intake manifold, no harness.
I paid $250 for my HMotors H22A. And paid $300ish for another block I bought years ago that I had shipped through a Freight company, Southwestern Motor Transport. That was them picking it up from Home and dropping it of at my work, (Which they didn't do, I couldn't wait till the next day, so I went and picked it up from their distribution warehouse.) And similar prices on separate pieces.

Leigh, who is that quote through? FedEx or other?

I shipped a complete H22(including alternator, exhaust manifold, intake..ect. The buyer paid shipping so I never saw the numbers but from having to pick that beast up by myself i'm guessing that it weighed around 400 lbs
