Sucks seeing that guys 99SI getting stolen in Glendale... I was hoping someone can point me in the direction of keeping my car, more stock looking, from being ninja'd. I mean, I'll make a quick disconnect for a section of wire if thats what it takes lol. Thanks for the help.

 

one thing u wanna do is somehow protect the hood latch and cable... i tried thin aluminum but they cut through it.... if someone reaches under ur bumper and pulls hard enough it will pop the hood and its all down hill from there... another thing u can have done is a starter kill switch, hide it in a place close to the drivers area that only u know about , so u will have to push a button while turnin the key to start the car

It's all about layers of security. A single alarm, kill switch, or steering wheel lock isn't going to stop a skilled thief. However, many of these things together greatly increases his time on the scene, which is his worst enemy.

You have already made the first step, informing yourself.

If you purchase an alarm, don't have Bestbuy or Circuit City install it. Get a Viper or Clifford installed at a place that specializes in security systems. You can also do it yourself if you are inclined. I did my entire security system myself. It takes some time to learn and get it right, but it's relatively straight forward.
