decided to start a new thread for my build. long overdue pics.
i had a thread from like a year ago when i started working on my teggy again, but decided to make a new thread.
Ive FINALLY finished all the body work and started putting the pieces of the car back together. end of next week the bay and jams will all be painted and cleared, and then the temp engine and trans can go in so i can finnaly drive around my integra thats been out of use for a year.
heres some pics-

the tottaly eveything shaved bay.

left side of bay

right side of bay

rear end (everythings is just sitting on not fully installed)

passenger side floor is undercoated, still need to do drivers side and then put the carpet back in)

hard to tell in the pic but i finally wired up the l.e.d lights. the two up top are green for the turn signals, the one all the way to the right is the low fuel light thats yellow, the one in the center is red for the oil pressure light, and the CEL light (not pictured) is all the way to the left and its orange.)

side view

disregard the loaner wheels haha
still have a lot of work to do but its a big jump from where its been for the past year haha. the body is absolutly flawless. not one dent, knick scratch anything.

well this is basically a drag car that looks really nice haha. the engine setup thats going in the car when its ready to be a full out drag car again is going to be a fully built ls/vtec turbo setup, air to water intercooler system, and only ever see race gas. my goal is to get to as close as 1000hp as possible. im not trying to race in any classes or anything, just have a fast car to take to the track and have fun with.
for the tume being i just bought a stock ls long block and thats going to go in after the bay and jams are painted just so i can remember what it feels like to drive the car again haha.
2 years ago was the last time this car saw a track, and it went 10.8 on slicks with the old setup on pump making around 450 to the wheels.
im using the stock fuel tank, it just has the A N fittings welded onto so i can run an external pump and steel braided fuel line setupd when im ready for the real power, but whats nice is i can cap them off and run the stock fuel pump and lines while i have the stock loaner engine in temporairly.

a 1000hp FWD Honda just to take to the track and have fun with?? Damn you need to be building a Supra or something.
1000hp and FWD probably won't get down the track much faster than it did when it had 450hp, unless you start doing things like wheelie bars and other things to keep the front tires from just spinning. I think traction will be an issue with numbers like that, if you can achieve them.
Also, I don't know all the drag racing regulations but you may run into requirements like parachute, fire suppression systems and other things with certain power output or ET's, etc.

i have all thee full race traction bar setups which help out a good bit.
and if you look in the pic of the rear section, the parachute mount is already there.
and as for the fire suppression system, i still have to run all the lines for that as well. one nozzle goes to the engine bay, and then theres 2 more inside the cabin in various spots. what it does is it pulls oxygen out of the air which keeps a fire from growing and/or puts it out.

my goal isnt exactly 1000hp its jus as close as i can get to it. so i guess thats anywhere from 700hp up haha.

technically yes, but its there to help extinguish a fire but not draw out all the oxygen in such a short time period that you die. you bascally have enough time to get out of the car and what not still. but its operated on a pull switch, so it doesnt automatically go on if theres a fire. you have to engage it.
hell yes thats streetable. at least IMO. i drove this car on the street plenty of times with the old setup. my good friend has a 525whp s2k that he drives all the time on the street with no problems.

What is streetable and what is not depends on the car. There are people driving 1000+ hp Supras on the street every day. However, the equipment needed to make 700+ hp and effectively get that power to the ground on a FWD Honda may make it difficult to drive normally on the street. Things like clutches and transmission components capable of handling that massive power, fuel delivery components, camshaft and valvetrain components, etc. Depending on the setup, it may make more sense to make it a track-only car that is hauled to the track on a trailer with a tow pig.
But then it gets to a certain point where, unless you're just made of money, you have to wonder what you're getting out of it after putting so much into it. Unless this is your profession (building/racing cars), are you getting any money or prizes from winning races? The OP said he's not into it to be competitive so I dunno. Different strokes for different folks, but I just can't see myself putting all that time and money into something unless I'm being paid/sponsored/winning money, etc. doing it.

exactly. different strokes for different folks. like i said im building this car as the one car i dont ever plan on getting rid of. and its only for fun and to take to the track and meets basically. and besides parts i havent put any money into this car because I do all the work myself which saves a ton of money. and to me its not about what ill get out of it, i had enough past builds that i bought, built and then sold. i build cars for the simple fact that i like building cars and its my passion. and when it comes down to it, thats really all it should be about.
