It's in the glass, the the lower left of the tach.. there is this really weird botton; it's across from the Trip Reset button.
Umm, which car?
If it's the '98 Civic, that button is to reset the "Maintenance Required" indicator. You stick the key in the slot to reset it from red or yellow back to green. The indicator will change colors again after 7500 miles.
If it's the del Sol, that button is a dimmer/rheostat for the dash lights. Twist it.

See, the previous owner took the CEL bulb out to sell the car.. they tried passing inspection but kept failing (didn't tell me this before buying it). They didn't tell me they pulled the bulb.. long story short, the dummy didn't put an OEM primary o2 into it. Soooo anyways... I dont really have a "maintenance" light lol. Thanks for clearing this up though..
how hard is it to put another bulb in it?
The Maintenance Required indicator and the Check Engine light are two totally different things.
Do you have aftermarket gauge faces?
And no, it's not difficult to put another bulb in.

Oh so it has nothing to do with the light to the left of it? I'll look and see what the maint. req. light looks like.
Whats the point of that anyways?

The green square at the bottom of the speedometer - it changes from green to yellow to red. Inserting the key into the slot to press the button will reset it to green.
It's just a mileage ticker to remind you of services.

Oh.. well thats kinda neat. So like.. when it turns yellow, would be a good time for an oilchange and whatnot?
Basically, I disregard that little guy and change my fluids according to mileage. Just be sure to remember what it was everytime you change lol
Here in the Northeast, we should be using the "severe" condition service intervals (3500 mile oil changes). Honda defines severe conditions as excessively cold or hot changing climates, hills, short trips, lots of stop-and-go driving, and dusty ambient air.
Basically, nobody I know of other than interstate couriers and long-distance highway commuters in the central US should be running the 7500 mile oil change intervals . . .
