I've heard of people doing it. The steering ratio will be different though.

I wouldn't recommend swapping your fast-ratio integra steering rack for a EG civic steering rack. Although it will convert it to manual, your car will feel very different while turning. The specific integra steering ratio was chosen to deliver the responsiveness and sportiness of a then-Acura's flagship sport compact model.

I remember there a kit floating around h-t that recirculates the fluid within your rack so it doesn't get dried up. So manual steering with a power steering rack.

I ran my power steering rack without fluid for 3 years. Once I put it back on it worked like a charm. Steering is much stiffer without the recirculating fluid kit.

you can take the rubber hose before the fluid goes into the overflow and a quick disconect air chuk and loop your rack. it makes it almost like a manual rack

heres the how to.

Yes it is possible to use an EG manual rack in a dc chassis. it will steer a little different but non the less will work and should bolt up. I advise against leaving stock rack and taking out P/S very hard to turn when not moving, big pain in the *** and gets old real quick

if it changes the turning ratio i would preferd to go with the recirculation kit and keep the right ratio, instead of swaping to the eg, but what changes the ratio? would it be the lenght of the tie rod ends??

Yes. I did it.

You need to use the rack from a CX, and make sure to use the knuckle joint. (Part which goes from the shaft to the rack)

As far as ratio, if you haven't driven an Integra with one, then don't comment.

However, the diff. is negliable. The feel was much much better, and the best part is you save alot of weight, as well as freeing up some extra hp.

The install is very easy, if you need help let me know.

driving a car with a manual rack gives you a better feel for the car, power steering is great but not needed. the ratio changes as in you will need to turn the whee a few more times to get the steering all the way to one side but as far as driving it would be pretty close and again have a much better responce and more feel for the car. Ive drive p/s p/s looped and manual and i prefer the manual BUT i could care less to swap it into my car because my p/s works with my boosted setup

Explain.

I had both, and would opt for manual rack every time.
