Tein HA question..
Okay, so they have 16 way adjustablitly...I know.
Yet there are 22 clicks, right?
I was adjusting the settings on mine today and only got 20 clicks out of them.
Any clue as to why?

for rebuild purposes or something like that, only the first 16 clicks (starting from soft) do anything
full *counter*clockwise is full soft btw

Yeah, I know that. But what worried me was the fact that I could only get 20 clicks when there is supposed to be 22...
Maybe I'm paranoid.

Then FULL SOFT is 15 CLICKS counterclockwise.

I'm not sure if the other posts said this, but in the directions it says always go from full hard to where ever you want to set it. On mine, you can feel the click better when you go from hard to soft.
I dunno personally because I can't read Japanese, but the Canadian distributor for Tein told me that the shock can be damaged by stiffening the shock past 16 clicks. He said it damages the valves. I don't know if that was the problem with mine, but I had my car in the shop for a while and when I got it back one of the rears was stiffened up all the way. I didn't notice right away until I went over this huge bump and I heard this big bang followed by a noise like something was falling apart onto the ground. After that it went bang every time I went over a bump.
It turned out that I damaged it somehow. It's probably a bent shaft from what I heard, but either way better safe than sorry I guess...

ARE YOU GUYS LISTENING?
Full stiff is full clockwise RIGHT?
These are 16 way adjustable RIGHT?
If you are on full stiff, you are only at SETTING 16. In english that means that FULL CLOCKWISE is setting 16. RIGHT?
Click back 15 times for FULL SOFT or setting 1 RIGHT?
If you can't read the intructions or figure out how to use them, then you shouldnt have got them.
You cant damage the shocks by setting them past full hard, because you cant set anything past full hard. Setting them past full soft, which is 15 clicks away from full hard can damage them. and if you think full counter clockwise is full soft then you messed up.
CLIFF NOTES : Here are the intructions in ENGRISH. Read them and weap!

No problem!
I don't appreciate your attitude d00d.
First you state your opinion and expect everyone to take it as the word, even though you give no references right away. Then you get pissed off when someone disagrees with you! WTF?
Not that I don't believe your linked PDF, because I'm sure it's intended to be correct, but it doesn't make complete sense. It does specifically say that full stiff is at the full clockwise, but right after that it says "CAUTION: USE ONLY LEVELS 1-16. Exceeding level 16 will damage the damper." How would it be possible to exceed level 16 if level 16 was in the full clockwise position?
There are inconsistencies in that document, so until it's proven otherwise I will not fully tighten my shocks to the full clockwise position. Now I'll also not loosen them to the full counter clockwise position. Especially since a) the Canadian distributor told me otherwise and b) I've personally damaged my shock when it was at the full counter clockwise position already.

The document says that the shocks come in the full stiff or full counterclockwise position when shipped. Mine did. Document was correct.
When they say exceeding level 16 they probably mean forcing it past.
As far as attitude goes.... I don't know what to tell you. Somebody asks a question and somebody answers it. And then answers it again. And then the question is asked again. If people aren't going to accept the answers they get, then what is the point of asking. And if people aren't going to accept my answers, then what is the point of answering.
At any rate. Welcome to the internet, where most companies have websites with documentation.
Yes they are rebuildable. Send them to SoCal and Tein will rebuild them back to spec or to your custom spec.
If I am not mistaken, a stock rebuild is 80 per shock. But don't quote me on that.
call them.
call them.
