Default Speedometer

Recently took my car for to the dealership for the third gear problem. It has been fixed and now my speedometer is out of whack. Anyone else experience this or is my local Honda dealership just really lazy?

When shifting it would jump up a lot and eventually ended when cruising in sixth.

Considering that it happened after the dealer worked on the transmission - where the VSS is located - it's probably due to a loose connection or something. Take it back and tell them to fix it. That will get you a lot closer to solving the problem than doodling around on the internet will.

Been searching on majestichonda's part catalog for where the vss is located. Now can anyone point me in that direction?

Wow, for a "tech" forum, I'm seeing alot of techless responses. Maybe he's like most of us and doesn't want to go back the dealer to get work done.

Wish I could help you dude, give this thread a couple more days and maybe you'll get your answer.

Here's a clue: When a shop makes a mistake during a service, you take it back and ask them to fix it. Why? If you try to screw with it yourself, and find out that the mistake is going to take a LOT of labor time or is going to require parts to fix once you have everything apart, you'll be hosed. Why? Because they'll be able to tell that you messed with it after they touched it, and can refuse to cover it for that reason.

We're looking out for the original poster's best interests. If it were in his best interest to fix it himself, I'd have lead him through a troubleshoot.
