Icon3 Are these throttle body spacers for real?

I've been seeing this throttle body spacer mentioned quite a few times:

Street & Performance Helix Power Tower Throttle Body Spacer
http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A2612816.aspx

I just wanted to ask you guys if this was for real. Obviously, I don't automatically assume that the HP gains and Torque gains that are advertised by them to be accurate. The "up to 22 HP" gains that they mention definitely seem out of range.

I just wanted to ask any of you guys who have had experience or have a certain opinion on these throttle body spacers. What do you think? Are they worth it?

I have an Injen Short Ram on my 6th Gen Accord, by the way.

I bought one and saw no gain in fuel economy. I never had it dyno tested but I can assure you there was no seat of the pants white knuckel experience gained. It did make a nice tubo esque whistle at partial throttle though.

You have a better chance of developing power from mounting the CPU cooling fan from your computer into that Ingen short ram you've got.

The original reason for Throttle Body Spacers was to enlarge the Intake Plenum volume thus improving torque responce in the low(er) rpm range.

Disregard any claims for magical power and milage increases. these things always surface when the national dialog involves gas prices and other such things. I'm surprised I haven't seen any marketed Green ("save the Enviroment blah blah blah")

And most of them only add 196.35cc's (0.2L) to the plenum. Considering the stock F22 intake plenum is approx 3378.5cc's (3.38L) That increase isn't enough to gain 22hp.

It seemed to add a wee bit of throttle response...but that could have been all in my head?

IMO they are not worth the $$$. Might as well get one of those in line (restrictive) tornado fuel savers...lol

If you bumped this thread in the hopes that someone might say they are the best thing since sliced bread. I don't think it's going to happen.
