More than likely an issue with the Transmission Control Cable which runs between the shifter assembly and the transmission. They sometimes develope a binding sensation and require replacement.
Honda uses the same cable for all model Accord Automatics of that year.

Make sure that all your Engine grounds are intact (give it a cursory inspection). I had one case where a customer had some engine work performed and someone forgot the Ground Strap / connection. Not to worry, it started and ran great for about a year, until one day the Trans control cable failed. What happened?
The Engine found a ground path thru the transmission Control Cable and worked fine 'till one day the shieth melted and one of the metal ends popped off
