Hello,
After getting the code I did some searches and found out that most of the time this problem occurs because of a loose or faulty gas cap. Since I just got the car back from having the swap completed, I checked the gas cap and found it had been loosened so I figured I had solved problem. After resetting the ECU and tightening the cap I drove for a day or so and the CEL returned with the same code.
I also read that you can take it to a shop and have them put some colored gas through the lines and so forth to check for a leak in the evap system. But, I would love to figure this out without putting anymore money into the car, since I just forked out the money for completing the swap.
Can anyone let me know if there are some other things I can check before taking it into a shop?
Thanks,
Allen

I am pretty sure it isn't the gas cap. Since it was working before the swap and the light only came on the day I got the car back. I will check into it though. Bump.
There is a leak somewhere within your EVAP system. Sometimes is loose gas cap, but if its not, it may have something to do with the black charcoal box in the engine bay. Did you remove it from the civic CX? if not, did u connect all the correct lines to it?
I found the resolution to this problem is to run a OBD1 ECU. Problem evaded/solved.

Take it back to the shop that did the swap. Maybe they didn't hook up something. I don't know how much you spent but probably in the thousands. For that kind of money they can at least diagnose the problem for you for free.

I really got a great price, $2800 for the motor and installation. I know the guy is busy and also lives an hour away so I am trying to figure it out on my own first. I am going to see if I can have him look at it again when he has time. Car is running great it's just that damn check engine light is so annoying to look at.
