Civic wont start
I got a 1994 honda civic dx coupe and i left for a weekend and came back and it wouldnt start. I have spark and its getting gas. I pulled out the spark plugs and 2 and 3 had oil all over it so i went and got all the valve gaskets and the the circle gaskets that go around the spark plugs. Bought new spark plugs and still just turns over and wont start. Im not a mechanic so dont make fun of me lol i just wanna get my car running so i have transportation. Please help if you can.

Is the spark bright bluish white or a weak orange color?
Does the CEL remain ON when you turn the key to ON(II)?
Do you hear the fuel pump prime for 2 seconds when you turn the key to ON(II)?
If all these items are normal, then compression test all four cylinders.
check the ignition module. knew a guy that his wouldn't start and all the shop changed was that and it starts fine now! apparently it had been getting flaky for a while and then finally died.
No the cel turns off i do believe i hear the pump i mena im getting gas cause i unscrewed the the dome looking thing on the fire wall where the gas goes and as soon as i turn the key gas starts shooting out of there. I just put new spark plugs in ngk somehting. The car turns over just wont fire. where is the ignition module located.
Check for spark. If there's no spark, check whether the distributor has battery voltage when the key is turned to ON(II). If you measure battery voltage, then have the coil and igniter in the distributor tested.

Hey read one of your posts on honda civic forum .com and that guy had the same problem dealing with the main relay could that be me too i mean im not sure if the pump turns on but i know i get gas. is there any fuses i should check and if so do you have a picture of the diagram i dont have any cause there all off my car.
It sounds like you have both fuel and spark. In this case, the main relay is not a prime suspect. Checking whether the timing belt slipped and measuring cylinder compression is more worthwhile.
Here's a diagram for checking proper TDC1 synchrony of the cam and crank:
How many miles you have and has it ever had a timing belt replaced?
Have you tried....
- Check and clean all ground wires?
- A new Cap and Rotor? (Helped me once before).
- Will it push start? (If Stick Shift).
- Check the timing belt? (As others mentioned).
- By now you might have your clyinders washed out (Flooded with fuel, Does the oil smell like it has gas in it?) You can try pulling your sparkplugs out and changing your oil & filter. Then give a squirt of oil into the cylinders then putting the spark plugs back in, If your cylinder walls have gotten washed out from flooding with fuel you won't get compression. So if your timing belt is good give this a try. By putting a little squirt of oil in the cylinders that would create a seal on your rings once again and allow your fuel to fire if everything is working properly. If it starts you'll be fine. The oil on top of the cylinders will burn out the exhaust and your new oil should cause your rings to have the seal they need to run as normal.
- I learned this the hard way and it had to be done more then once due to a boosted EK and a tune not properly tuned for start up. (Started very rich, but was dialed in for the mid and high range).
Good luck! let us know how it goes..
