If you have it on hand, test fit it. It's only a couple of bolts.

Does it have the rest of the cat-back with the resonator? How much did you pay?

thanks for the comments guys, but i found out that they welded the end of it the wrong way. its suppose to slant to the other side. i paid 70 for just the muffler. i hope i dont have any gap between the axle back... i am going to go take it to a shop in the afternoon.

It looks like the flange might have been swapped, as the muffler body appears to be stainless steel by the welds. $70 seems quite reasonable. Was it new or used?

I paid $650 for my Mugen twin loop cat back. So yeah, I'd say $70 is a deal

I have a Mugen twin loop. The enormous resonator is critical to the sound. OP, what mid-pipe will you be running?

Yeah my buddy dropped $500+ for a Mugen rear section only (no B-piping) back in the day, and had to wait 3-4 months to get it. We put it on his 99 Si coupe, and it bolted up in like 15 minutes. Absolute perfect fitment. Even though he still had the original stock B-pipe and resonator, it still sounded awesome.

The Mugen twinloop is designed with that 2nd muffler loop having a specific length, so that the noise from the exhaust pulses in each pipe inside the canister cancel each other out. It's a straight-through pipe, but WAYYY quieter than those normal straight-through canisters. Hopefully the manufacturer of this knock-off paid attention to that detail. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

considering these mufflers cost $50 on ebay it wasn't a great deal. Be sure to post a vid of how it sounds. I need a muffler for my prelude. Looks like i have a piece of plumbing on there now.

I can't see how that would cost only $50 on Ebay since it is stainless steel and TIG welded.

The 42/1 muffler pictured above looks like a nearly exact replica of the Mugen Twinloop muffer. I searched for "twin loop muffler" on eBay, and while none of them looked as close to the real thing as this one, they are all going for about $36 + $28 shipping, so just over $60 total for supposedly stainless steel twin loop mufflers.

My SiR had one of these fitted when i bought it and it sounded ok, kinda raspy if you know what i mean. I was under the impression it was made by Supersprint until reading this thread as thats what warranty card i found when i checked all the cars paperwork. Now i'm thinking it must of been the manifold it had on it.

So is the only real way of telling a genuine Mugen to a knock off is the Mugen stamp on the side? I mean even the grooves on the end of the tailpipe are the same.

I'm rocking a N1 now so wanna sell this old one, just don't wanna sell it as a Mugen twin loop only to be shot down in flames and told it's a ebay special!

im pretty sure the muffler is at least over $100. it doesnt look like a POS ebay muffler.
