b20 into 90 integra ls, silly questions
car blew head gasket and trans has 2 bad gears. my solution, install high compression b 20 with b series trans. i understand the flywheel i have will work, and ill need to use my intake manifold and dizzy when i reinstall it in the car. just wondering if i can hook up my air and power steering to this new set up. is there anything else that ill need to change? later itll be converted over to v tech.
wow, i guess it shows, im not a honda guy. im a fiat guy. but now ive got 5 honda motors out back , 3 are swaps and ones getting put back together for my younger sons 95 integra. thanx for the info.
i was hoping to get the driveline out of the 90 integra today, but the drivers side axle and the crank nut on the b 20 killed the day. couldnt break um loose. very frustrating.

B20 engine in an Integra is illegal in California, due to it being classified as a "light truck engine", since it only came in the CR-V.
Most cops or inspection stations know to look for it (the B20 block code) and will bust/fail you immediately for it.

If the car is not registered in CA then there are no issues. It's only when you try to register a car in CA and get it BAR'd does it become an issue with a B20 swap.
thats exactly why i play with old cars. no real rules. the b 16 b in my 74 x wouldnt fly in a newer car, even more so after i swap a 2 liter block under that head.
2 questions on this swap. the 90 inegra ls engine has a brass looking switch on the intake side about center of the block, with two nipples. what is this for. there is no where on the other block to install it. also on the replacement block, in the same area, there is a large allen plug that i need to remove to install a sending unit from the b18 block. does anyone know what size allen i need to remove this. thanx
