I have kind of a general question.

My car (94 civic) seems to keep killing its batteries. After the car sits for about 1.5 - 2 weeks a new battery would be dead. I don't think its the alternator because the car never has a problem if i drive it ~3 or more times a week.

I'm sure there are switches that will disconnect the battery for theft protection but i have never been in the market for one of these and i need help in what to get.

What i want is to basically disconnect everything from my battery, I don't care about my radio loosing its settings or anything like that...I just want to be able to flip a switch, while sitting in the drivers seat so my battery stops dieing.

If anyone knows what the problem could be i am also open to suggestions to actually fix the problem. I've checked grounds and there is no noticable short in any of the wires.

im leaning to a short circuit.
you can install a kill switch to the battery. so then your out of the car, just put on the swtich and it will stop all current.

 

could you recommend me a website to find a NHRA approved kill switch?

 

why does it have to be NHRA?

It doesn't really have to be NHRA but I don't want something that is cheep and going to break after frequent use

ok. i understand. you want something that will last and not one day bust and now your stuck in removing the switch.
