Default help - maintainence required light

okay, heres the deal. yesterday i just finished installing my front lips to car, but after turning it on to go somewhere i noticed that the "MAIN REQ" light was flashing. it flashes for a few seconds when i start the car, but goes away.

i know that usually this means i need to check my engine or something, but i dont remember anything wrong with it. i thought maybe there was some sensor connected to my bumpers were unhooked or something......year right so now i'm lost.

i dont want to have to take it to the shop just to check because i dont have time and i dont want to get charged for it just to check. anybody have any ideas? thanks.

It's just an oil change/scheduled maintenance light. It will start blinking like you described every 7k miles. It will come on solid every 7500 miles. You have to reset it. Read your owners manual. look up "maintenence required light" or something like that under the manual's index. You'll probably have to hold some button in for several seconds.

man, how can some people be so clueless?

read your manual under 'maint light' or 'maintenance light'

Not a big deal. Some people just don't know. I'd wager that MOST people really don't know what the light means. Customers ask me the same question about their cars all the time. They get the CEL and maint. light confused. They're both yellow and have something to do with spending money. I get the correlation.

I'm glad though that you were capable of figuring out how to register just ask that question

Press the trip button down while putting the key to the on position till it turns off.

if you search it up on this forum there was about a thousand threads on how to restart it, or you can just google it, either way may be alot faster then trying to get an owner manual if you dont have one, sorry i dont personally remember how to do it of hand, i have it written on a post it note and stuck it too my owner's manual ... lol
