Power Steering Pump
how do u replace the power steering pump?
any precautions or just take off the old one and put in the new one?
would that be the problem that is causing the steering to be very very hard to turn?
that's what i was told but i figured maybe there are different causes

Get a Haynes manual from AutoWeDontKnowShitZone. It will have most repairs listed. It's not as good as the Helms obviously, but better than nothing. I'm not saying it will have this process detailed.
As for causes: no fluid, bad pump, kinked lines, or wussy arms.

Should be a bolt and a ajusting screw at oposite ends of the pump remove both... Advise to make sure u have no leaks any where eles in system. And a flush before replace wouldnt hurt air in system may have similar symptoms
It seems to be common practice to use Transmission Fluid for power steering. Is this suitable??

I'm sure you've already checked this, but a simple thing is to check and make sure the belt on the power steering pump is there. I've had a belt break on me before, and I just had to replace the belt (luckily)
Most of you are aware that most 5 speed transmissions for hondas take regular 5w-30w motor oil as tranny fluid. There other types of fluid to use, but honda reccommends to just buy the conventional motor oil for trannies.
So your saying that putting tranny fluid in place of PS fluid is the way to go. I dont really agree with that, the fluid itself is a different viscosity than oil. Ever try cleaning PS fluid out of an engine bay, its not the same as cleaning an oil spill.
