Default Few questions on ls/vtec dowels

I am about to do a final assembly on my build and was wondering if the cylinder head is shaved and block is decked would the dowels need to be shaved down as well?

dowel pins are just to hold your head so it aligns with the block

Yes I know that, just wanted to make sure the height of the dowel does not need to be modified.

It depends on how much the head and / or block where shaved or decked. If it's minimal then you should have no problems.

Thanks, yeah the block and head were just shaved slightly just for better head gasket sealing. Sounds like I should be good then.

you just got both resurfaced so your ok on that, if you shaved it enough that the dowls would bottom out, you would have more issues then that, like valves to close to pistons, and timing belt unable to tension properly, you have no worrys, if your that concerned, you could clay the pitons and measure that way, good luck with the build.
