Default type r I/M on gsr head code 14

i just stuck a type r intake manifold on my gsr head. after i put on the i/m i get code 14 Electronic Air Control. anyone know what could be causing this? i made sure every hose is in and tight. oh yeah and my gsr is 0bd1 and it has this black box with some hose running through it, i tried plugging it up but it didnt make any difference. does anyone know what the black box is?

wait.. what?? how did you get an itr manifold to fit a gsr head. was the manifold modified to fit or something? because the bolt patterns are different.

The OP could have a b17A GSR.

true. let's wait for op to confirm. i forgot this was ALL integras.

btw code 14 is the IACV (idle air control valve) make sure the IACV is nice and clean. IACV is on the back of your manifold next to the throttle body, held on by iirc two 12mm and has two coolant hoses running to it. Also make sure the plug is clean use some dielectric grease on the plugs and plug back in.

i just bought the manifold from my friend, he said it was ITR but i just checked some manifolds out and it could be the blox i/m, ill check the iacv, i have a quick question, theres this black box that came with the 0bd1, it was stuck on the stock intake manifold, it had some hoses that connects to it, anyone have an idea on what that is and if i need it?

The black box operates the secondaries in the OEM gsr intake manifold. If you are using a blox IM then you have no use for it. It will not throw a cel if it is gone. Good luck!

thanks for the info on the box. ill re check my cel again to see if anything changed, oh yeah when i check my cel, i connect the 2 wires together near the ecu, and turn my key, why am i not getting the code from the cel? for example it blinks for a good 6 secs then stops and repeats over and over.

thats the code then...learn how to count them...one long blink is considered ten..fast short ones are considered as 1..so for example..two long blink would be 20 and say 3 fast blinks right after it would be code 23...fyi
