Default Running with EGR valve

hey guys I have a SOHC thats got an EGR. What would happen if its not hooked up or eliminated?

what are the consequences?

and this is OBD2 so no chipping and swapping to OBD1 is not an option at the moment.

It'll run like crap or not optimally. It's a falacy to believe that removing the EGR will improve performance because the car is TUNED with the EGR in mind. Unless you plan on tuning the ECU with emissions equipment removed, then you're wasting your time by removing it. Also you may not pass smog so you'd be better off leaving it unless you like paying $$$ for a guy to lie about your car passing emissions.
