Default Best type of fuel for your Prelude

Everyone knows that 91 octane is recommended for their 'lude, the key is to fill your car up with Ethonal Free 91 (mainly midwest drivers). I kept track of how far I could go on one tank of gas with 91 oct w/ 10% Ethonal added, then I did the same trip with 91 oct ethonal free. Turns out that I got about 2-5 mpg more with non-Ethonal fuel VS. 10% added to 91 octane. Your prelude (or another 91 octane recommended car) will get better mileage and performe much better. If you don't believe me, then try it for yourself. Personally want my car to run at its best all times.

What do you all think? Agree?

I also generally use V-Power at Shell, but I'm pretty sure 93 octane is recommended, not 91. Correct me if I'm wrong.

you are wrong...
91 octane is recommended because not all places sell 93.

10%? damn, over here in wa they use upwards of 10-15% or more, and i believe, by law they aren't required to tell you how much ethanol they use or even if it even contains any! i use chevron, which i think is 15% at the moment. i get a lame 23mpg 50/50 city/fwy

I get about the same mpg with ethonal blend. But from now on I'm not going to put ethonal in it. Regular 91 octane or + is better. Yes, gas stations are not required to display if they are using ethonal.

so how do you plan on doing that when you don't know if a company is blending ethanol into their gas? i'm a diehard chevron fan. i once walked to a chevron gas station to get gas when an arco was just down the street. but i wouldn't mind better mpg. it's funny because i've tried driving like a granny in hopes of achieving a better average but i got about the same as when i do my normal + few spirited runs.

Excuse me for breing wrong. Around here, 91 octane is 'Plus' and 93 octane is 'Premium'. No matter if they have 93 or not.

don't worry around here its 87, 89, and 93. So pretty much makes you buy 93.

I've got the hook-ups inside. lol, my mother does the fuel/petron/gas ordering for ALL the Hy-Vee (grocery store in the Midwest) gas stations and she knows who is surving Ethonal and who isn't.
