What is the most power that has been made on built turbocharged B series engines using the B16 head and B16A cams , either straight B16A's or LS/Vtec or B20Vtec setups.

Im looking to build a sleeved fully built 81.5mm LS/Vtec with a cleaned up B16A head, Crower valvesprings, Ferrea 0.5mm over valves and a 62mm Borg Warner Hybrid turbo running 22 psi

I'd like to know how far other owners/tuners have gone on B16 cams (horsepower wise) as opposed to using GSR/CTR/ITR/PRO1/Tuner2 cams

Optimistically I'd like to make 500whp with the above running no more than 22 psi - is this possible with the B16 cams ??

yes. that is easily possible. Even moreso w/ GS-R cams. There's really no need to go any higher for that power goal. You'll like that S362. Don't worry about whp psi it makes it in, especially if you have a 3bar map sensor. Thats up to the tune.

 

I'm still using stock B16a2 cams/stock B16a2 head. I made 375whp 270tq at 20psi 93 octane with a Peakboost turbo kit (Garrett t3/t4 57trim .63a/r) so my turbo is much smaller than yours. Oh and it was with a 2.5" catback. I'm getting a 3" electronic cutout, so I should see well over 400whp with this setup.

the the cheap cost of gsr's your much better off.

 

Unfortunatly here in South Africa we never got any other B series vtec engines other than the B16A - so that makes finding GSR cams a bit tricky coz Id need to import a set from the US

Where is a good place to find ITR or GSR (used) cams ???
