Default Help With Starting Problem

I have a 2000 civic si coupe. When i was coming home from school today, my car died at the stop light. When i try to start the engine, it makes a swish noise like a belt noise. I checked the cap and rotor which seems to be fine. I can't get it to start. Every time i turn on the ignition, it spins but i won't get any power for the engine won't start. Any heads up? can it be my timing belt?

Check to make sure ur getting fuel. I had sort of the same problem. My car was running fine then just up and died and wouldn't start again. Turned out to be a bad fuel pump. Even if u hear it prime doesnt it could still be bad. Mine was turning on just not pumping any fuel.
