I have a 92 civic cx that im putting my H22 in. I got the car as just a shell, and it didnt come with an engine harness. I just recently got my hands on a vx harness for free.

All connections match up on the harness. But will the vx harness work on the H22 in my cx? Also doesnt the vx harness already have vtec wired in?

To someone who knows, please help me out.

The VX harness is wired up for Vtec already, but i'm not sure that it'll work with your H22. You should probably use a stock Prelude harness..

 

vx is the vtec-e harness right? If so i think the o2 may need re-wired and maybe some re-pinning of various things. However a civic ex would work perfect, you juts have to lengthen the alternator wires. Was the cx vtec? Im thinking it was, if so then itll all plug up but youll have to wire vtec to the ecu.

 

After reading around a bit, I found out that all civics and del sols in 92 were pre wired for vtec at the chasis harness.

And that if you use a si/ex engine harness on 92 civic you dont need to mess with vtec or anything.

But I couldn't I use the VX harness since it is wired for vtec already? The only problem with the vx harness is the 5 wire 02 right?
