Default Need advice on valvetrain

Ok right now i have Complete ITR valvetrain with skunk2 stage 1 cams. My ecu is SUPPOSED to cut at 8800 but i have hit 9000-9100 quite a few times. Since droppping a valve would suck the big one i obviously want to upgrade valvetrain. I was thinking about simply getting portflow inners and adding them to the setup i have now. So id have the ITR outers/portflow inners and stock retainers.

Mind you...

I do not intend on getting bigger cams. If anything i might get CTR's (smaller obviously) simply for the fact i like using HONDA parts when i can. This upgrade is simply for insurance of in case i miss a shift or when i powershift at the track. I want to make sure that if i do go past 8800 my valves wont leave the party.....

Is there any drawback to getting these inners and using stock retainers?
I know i might lose minimal power...but how about reliability?

Thanks guys

8000 miles on stock valvetrain with stage 1's. Hit 9500 once and 9200 numerous times but mostly stayed under 9000 with no problems. If I could do it over again I would just put in Ti retainers.

.....if you really wanna be safe (although it might be overkill), just go with portflow inners and outers all around, and their Ti retainers too (since you'll be in there anyway).
