my lowered crx hit a pothole...check it out
so i hit the deepest, meanest, most derranged pothole i could ever hit......although driving bout 5 mph...the kicker is that i was looking at this radiator seal-it junk cuz i thought i broke my radiator after hitting a pothole bout 2 minutes before this epidemic lol. the worst part is they are an expensive set of dc headers...anyone know where i can buy a cheap set? its a full peice header that ends at the cat or is there ANY possible way of molding them back to its shape???
anyway!!!
heres the damage.

not worth the money to repair.sorry,i think you better get a new header.and if your going to be traveling that road again,i would suggest a stock mani.that would be cheaper to replace.plenty of cheap headers on ebay.
Wow nice dent... At least your wheels are not bent. It will be hard to repair that dent. Try craigslist or ebay for deals on headers. Good luck.
Not sure if it would have helped you any, but there used to be skid plates out there for sale. I rememember seeing them a long time ago on Heeltoeautomotive.

I would suggest you look into 4-2-1 a header rather than 4-1. I had a 4-1 header and ill never do one again. Destroyed a perfectly good CTR header in one shot while i wasn't paying attention

how much power are you losing?
>rolls dice<
9!
It's a big calculation. Your header looks like it's smashed to about 1/2 it's original diameter so it's not good.
Since you are planning on a new header anyway, you could probably take this one to a shop and have them put it on a lift. Weld some rod to the damage and pull most of the dent out for now. It ghetto, but better than nothing I guess.
just have your exhaust shop fix that. although my header wasnt smashed the downpipe piece(2 piece header) was too long so we cut it to length and made it fit 4-2-1 dc carb legal header. spent 100 bucks and 50 for the headers. well worth it.
if you gots free time and a big *** freezer maybe try this: fill the header or at least the effected area with water and put it in the freezer. when water freezes, it expands thus pushing the dent out. i've heard/seen people do this and the results were typically good.
and if it doesn't work, well you needed a header anyways right lol. hope this helps.

^^ now how exactly would steel putty repair that? steel putty wouldn't help the header flow like its supposed to. and to the op, i don't think you hit a pot-hole, more like a ****ing crater! go back to the site and pick up the burried moon rock, lol.
mine is flat but not that smashed in. i didnt care about it and it was already some cheapo anyways. i say just rock some kinda itr replica header or just get one of the ebay ones if your gonna have that problem often with your local roads
Are you from Michigan? Gosh with all of the trendy low profile bling bling wheels there's all sorts of insurance claims for damaged wheels.
actually i live in oklahoma....
although i am in the process of fabricating some skid plates for my next header...but yes i know that was a pretty serious pothole.
so i guess im just gonna have to order some new ones then huh?

That's repairable. It's just the two bottom pipes. You would need some experience though. I went through the same thing, and i cut off the bottom pipes and welded some new ones. Dont forget to purge weld, or it will crack.
