Alright after i installed my gsr swap back in my teggy with a new Competition Clutch kit stage 2 and Competition Clutch flywheel(street) i had realized that my idle was high so i turned it down to specs, while it did that there is a loud knocking noise coming from the tranny. Then after driving it i realized that once i step in the clutch the noise is gone, and also when i give it a little bit of gas too.

But it didnt do it when i had it with my stock LS until i put back my GSR and a new clutch kit ???... And I just realized my DD CRX has been doing the same thing since i bought it like over a year ago!! and no problems??
did your rub grease around the parts that have metal to metal contact? for example the part of the throw out bearing that comes in contact with the fingers on the pressure plate? whenever ive done clutchs ive alwasy put some hi temp grease on that spot and on the splines of the input shaft. sounds like that could be your problem or the internal bearing structure of the throw out bearing itself could have been defective from the factory

Its not the the throwout bearing. If it was it would be noisy when the clutch pedal was depressed, the only time the throwout bearing turns. Most likely either the input shaft bearing or the other mainshaft bearing went bad.

Thats when mine is noisy, when the pedal is not pressed in.
i've heard many stories...mine only ticks when my car is parked and my clutch pedal is not engaged...i guess the only way to find it is taking it out and replacing it
i'd put my money on the input shaft bearing. my gsr trans made a whirring noise until i dropped the trans and split the case. all but two or three of the ***** for the bearing were in the bottom of the case.
replaced it and it's been fine since.

Most definitely the input shaft (a.k.a. main shaft) bearing.
When your car is in neutral and you disengage the clutch, the main shaft stops spinning, which is why the noise goes away. At all other times, the main shaft spins, thus making the noise.

Well i took it apart and found out that the flywheel was loose!! All the bolts were torqued down correctly but it was loose... Thumbs down for Competition Clutch flywheel and ARP bolts!!
