CarbonFiber Hood????
You want real CF hoods it will cost you. I know the president of a company which makes real carbon fiber for cars. if you want more info let me know.
If you want the look/lightness the shitty brands will do fine. If you want the whole package (strength) it will be some more.

My personal opinion is that CF hoods look like @$$ when not painted to match the car. Putting it on a lightweight race car is one thing. On a street car it's just like "heyyy look at me, I'm so Fast & Furious that I can put race car parts on my street car too!!!!!!!!"
As for quality, Fiber Images used to make great products at a good price. My buddy had a FI CF hood on his Civic back in the day, and it was the real deal. The CF weave was bare on the underside of the hood, so you knew it wasn't an overlay. You could actually see light coming through the middle of the hood when it was up. It also had a fiberglass frame around the perimeter of the hood only, with no ribs going across the middle portions. Weight was maybe 5 pounds at the most.
Not sure if FI is still around or not, but it was good stuff back in the day. I think my buddy paid about $350 or $400 for that hood, back in like 2002-2003 or so.

If you just want the look then you dont even need to buy a new hood, just use carbon fiber tape. I remember a thread a while back where a guy did his trunk and posted "How much do you think this cost me?" and everyone was guessing crazy amounts when it was just carbon fiber tape.
If you want a real carbon fiber hood, you better hope you dont rear end anyone because it will come through the window and slice you up, ya thats how strong it is.

I'm pretty sure that +$30 is just the difference between shipping to a commercial or residential address.
Shipping to your home is $125, making the total cost $480.

Just rechecked it again, shipping was $95 dollars.
The Seibon Hood was the one that offered the free shipping. $493.40 to residential address.

Mike Cudahy is the president and a really chill guy. I talked to him about making a carbon fiber rear diffuser not too long ago.
They make lots of stuff for Lotus elise/exige, also make some stuff for the AMS Evo, along with other cars.
I just got rid of my C.F. hood. it was nice, but slightly warped I think, because it would never completely lay flush with the fenders. I think the hood affects with the climate, when its really cold I could see the hood curve up, and when its warm it relaxes enough to sit better. Plus with my color the C.F. just stood out...just like Patrick said earlier. I was thinking of painting the hood but that would take a lot of work and I have no time, nor the energy to do it. SO I did what any DA owner would do. I got a fellow R-72P owner to trade me his hood. I am so glad that I went back to metal hood.
