b18b1 who do i believe?
i have a 92 teg with b18a1 that recently through a rod. bought a b18b1 from a local tuner shop and was told that the b18b1 would drop right in with no problems. after i purchased the engine i noticed that the intake manifold had different vac line hookups, and the motor mount is slightly differnt. i contacted a different shop and was told that i have to use my old intake. witch is true. can i use the b18b's intake or not,and if so how do i bypass the vac lines (that are connected to elect sensors) without problems?
I just got done doing one of these. Just strip down both longblocks and dress the B18B1 with all of your B18A1 parts. It is the easiest thing to do and does not take that long. You can use the B18B1 IM, which will give you better flow, but im not sure exctally where the vaccum lines go so I just used the B18A1 IM to make it easy.
thank you. yeah, i had someone else say the same thing. i was really hopeing to be able to use the b18b IM due to the better air flow and it is alot cleaner than the one off my b18a. did you have to change out your motor mount brackets?
