recharging civic a/c
i'm about to recharge my 94 civic si a/c, was just wondering if i have to add oil or is freon just fine. i'm also pulling a vacuum first, and then will be adding freon.
There is a oil that is added to the system to lube the compressor that is specific to ac systems. To the op did you change any parts out like the dryer, compressor ect if so there are specs as to how muh oil to add to each. If not you should be okay to just evac the system and recharge it. There are other people on here that have a lot more exp on this then I do I am sure they will add more info. Just reread your post you have a 94 civic that system should be R134 and not R12 (freon) better make sure what system you have.
well i got the a/c lines from the junkyard, the receiver drier i bought it brand new, the compressor i got it from my cousin civic that he crash, so what do i have to do now, besides vacuum it?
Well you will need to add oil to the system. If I remember the dryer gets oil also. If I where you I would change all O rings in the system since you are rebuilding it from multi parts. then vacuume things down the recharge the system
