How much AC oil for 2000Civic R134A system
The R12 system on my 93 Civic is becoming rather problematic (Basically the AC will blow cold at idle, but not at driving speeds). So I want to replace the system for an R134A one. I have a compressor, condensor, piping and dryer (new) from a 2000 DX, and an evap core from a 97 CRV. My question is about the oil from the system. I found a tutorial in the faq saying the total system should have 4oz of oil in it for a 94. Is this the same for a 2000 Civic? Also, whats the best way to drain all the oil from the components and start fresh?

It looks like it may just require some bending of the lines, otherwise most of it seems to be a mirror image.

So to my original question, if I drain everything the best I can and add about 4 oz of oil to the compressor, everything should be about perfect when it gets on the car with a new dryer.

Do you have the 6G Service Manual? It may not say explicitly, but it should be able to be deduced, like what I mention here in my point #1: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showpo...52&postcount=9

I have a 6G service guide it says 4oz as well So Im guessing its probably the same since I dont believe the compressors changed much from 94-00.

I guess its time to confirm at the yard...not that Ive been able to find any, but from what I understand everything so far supports that one will mount to it. In the end however its of little concern because eventually I will be swapping in a B16 and I have a del sol AC bracket for it.

Unless you see a sticker under your hood stating otherwise, here are the capacities:
Civic 2/3/4-dörrars - Denso-kompressor 1996-2000 R134a 600-650g 140ml PAG 46
Civic 2/3/4-dörrars - Sanden-kompressor 1996-2000 R134a 600-650g 130ml PAG 46
Civic 5-dörrars - Denso-kompressor 1997-2000 R134a 500-550g 120ml PAG 46
Civic 5-dörrars - Sanden-kompressor 1997-2000 R134a 500-550g 130ml PAG 46
Civic 5-dörrars diesel RHD 1997-2000 R134a 560g 135ml PAG 46
Civic 5-dörrars diesel LHD 1997-2000 R134a 640g 135 ml PAG 46
Not sure but I think Hondas in the USA are made in the USA, might be same capacity on everything there?
