Default Cast ebay turbo manifolds FLAME SUIT ON

Yes I did a search, and a lot of people advised against the welded ones.. The manifold I have no wont give me enough clearance for the turbo because of the motor mount in the way but thats another story.. It may not flow as well as a real mani, but it looks beefy enough to not crack on my and **** up my turbo or anything else. input please.

Preferably wanting to hear from people that have used something like this.. although waste gate placement looks odd:

That is the worst type of manifold. Look at how its designed. Runners 1 and 4 hit 90 degree angles and the fire directly at each other. These kind of manifold design cause detonation. Best part about it is the waste gate placement. I also doubt that the manifold will crack. I recommend a Revhard cast manifold if you want to go that route.

yea the runners are terrible but for an ebay manifold the waste gate placement isn't bad
most of them only have the waste gate over cylinders 1&2

you would have to go through Turbo-Kits.com in order to get the revhard manifolds. Miles Bautista is not on H-T.

Spoolin' performance makes good log manifolds and downpipe/dumptube combinations.

Spooling performance had the log manifolds, but no package with dump/dp. However their mani looks a lot similar to the ebay one i posted up. STR log mani or something

I can sell you my revhard setup. I made 245whp @ 6psi on a 9:1 compression motor w/ recirculated dump. Should def make more on 10:1...

Here is a revhard cast manifold. Notice what they did in between runner 2 and 3. They dont allow 4 and 1 to fire directly at each other. Its pretty much the best that can be done with these small, cast, a/c compatible manifolds.

We have used cheap cast copies at our shop, never any problems with cracking. Never really made any 'power' on any of em either.

THANK GOD!!

OP do yourself a favor and get decent parts, if your going to get a cast manifold there are better options, meutek, inlinepro, even blox. The Spoolin logs are a nice option also for ~350whp or less goals.

maybe he's thinking it can have like an EGR effect or something??? but yeah i don't think it would cause detonation... Cast manifolds have been used for YEARS on both FI and NA engines...

Because of the way its setup... it will cause a increased heat and back pressure. While tuning you will start to experience knock sooner than if you were using a tubular with runners pointing at a flange. Pm Tony1 about his knowledge on log manifolds. They work better on smaller motors, I believe due to the exhaust gas volume, but are bad on the 2.0+ motors. Here is a thread for some reference.

BTW, I know about your F22 build on Imports NC, looks good. I am Frompa on the boards btw...
