Shocks/Struts are pretty much the same thing.......so if your getting lowering springs and shocks/struts then you should be all set. But if you just wanna get new springs, then you will reuse your old stock shocks and struts.

um shocks are springs...... springs and struts are all you need but i would go with either coil overs or a small not too harsh 2.5" drop or something cause then it won't wear your tires too awful bad and it won't ride super crappy.....

Yes when lowering your car you should replace shocks as well because stock shocks can't handle with lowering springs well and eventually your OEM shocks will be blown. Do it right the first time so you don't have to do it twice. Best to buy a combo shock/springs.GL

yes and keep your stock stuff that way if you ever want to get rid of it you can just put the stockers back on and the value won't go down.

Get some new shocks also.......i dont recommend Tokico HPs though. If your gonna lower the car more than 2 inches that i would go with the Tokico Illuminas. My Tokico HPs already crapped out cause i lowered the car 2.5 inches and now it rides crappy again >=/

Yeah, I'd definatly get some new struts. We lowerd my car to just above legal and the stock ones blew in about a week. I've got the lowest ef sedan in town, but my exhaust is taking a beating, lol.

WTF?? Are you speaking out of your ***!?? Shocks and Struts are two COMPLETELY different things. 88-91 Civic/Crx all use SHOCKS with SPRINGS mounted on the SHOCK.

Anyway to answer the OP's question, you will buy new shocks, EF's do not have struts, they are different things. If you buy springs, you can either use your stock shocks and swap them (don't recommend that) or you can buy some new springs, and some shocks to compliment them.

Well you are the one that was right, I think your bf needs to learn more about cars before he starts spreading nonsense around. Does he call the "transaxle" a tranny or transmission too? Tell him he is WRONG.
