A "B" series engine can use either cable or hydro transmissions.

ls has longer gears so better highway mileage. gsr has shorter gears so lower mileage but better pickup as you will go throught gears faster. go with with either one as long as you get a hydro tranny as EGs use hydro trannys not cable. and yes just bolt on the hydro tranny to the block, NO MODDING needed to block or tranny.

lets not get into this subject again please!!!!! in my opinion the perfect tranny for boost or N/A high HP B-series is a GSR with an LS 5th gear for highway cruising... but everyone will start an argument about which tranny is better for boost and will go way off topic about helping you with ur swap.

not everyone wants to/knows how/feels comfortable with opening up the tranny and changing the gears around.
