Alright so looks like i'm looking in the auto wreckers for a new tranny? does it have to be the exact year? Not too sure what i'm looking for and don't wanna get ripped off lol... Can I use tranny from say an 03 or something?

 

Yes, you can use an '03 transmission.

 

01-05 civic tranny nothing else will work.

Any 01-05 transmission will work. I'd try to find an LX if you want to keep the gearing the same.

 

... I assumed you had already found an '03 transmission and wanted to know if it'd work. My bad.

 

DX(SE 04-05) and LX had the same engine and tranny, EX and SI was slightly different.

 

no u assumed right, i'm just want to know all my options gonna cost a good buck or two I guess, originall there was just a crack in the casing from a fluid change by a third party company will remain unnamed, but to me the tranny seems to be acting strange, revs high during each gear change, even when its warmed up, so gonna try jbweld to patch the crack but in the mean time gonna try picking up a tranny for future...

I'm assuming this is an 02 Civic 1.7L with an automatic. If so, you can use 01'-05 and the tranny code you want is either BMXA or SLXA. Tranny codes are on a white sticker on the side of the trans. Hope this helps.
