Default Help me decide here...

This is actually a stupid, obvious question.. but im pretty sure it hasnt been explored before. The question in a nutshell.. HF tranny or Si Tranny?? Si tranny would be the smartest choice correct?

Ive been through 3 motors.. all d16a6 in one form or another. My current d16 came with an HF tranny, which the seller FAILED to acknowledge upon my purchase . Sucks, right? Well.. due to the HF tranny TALL 2nd gear, i could hit 85+mph at 8000rpm in 2nd gear alone.. the result? i pull insanely on other cars in my second gear alone... the draw back? i find my self playing catch up on 1-2 shift since the RPM drops so LOW. Granted my car isnt stock (i/e, web cam, chip ecu, port polish.) the Si tranny is going in sometime in the next two weeks.. but ill miss that tall 2nd gear. Or maybe ill just keep the HF. How much better will the Si tranny be?

try to get the ZC 1-5 gears and use the Si FD gear.. honestly it can't be beat let me find a old hybrid link http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/zcsifdswap.html hope this helps.. and I would opt for the Si tranny if possible

hondas are all about gearing. the lower the better.

to tell u the truth in my experience with the si trans it lowered my mph in the quarter and have had bad times with it id say go with a dx 4dr trans over them both its got a final drive in between the dx crx trans and teh si crx trans i loved it now only if i could find one and longer gears arent always bad

the HF tranny, i think, would actually yield a higher trap speed. Not sure if it hurts performance all too much. The thing that gripes me, is how the grearing hurts in an auto-x. I almost have to shift back into first on every turn to gain speed.. i went head up with more than a few Si's, and the results were the same... 1st gear they get half a car on me, 2nd gear i reel them back in and pass swiftly.. going to 3rd gear means im going too fast (100+)..
