1990 Accord "S" Light Stays On?

1990 Accord "S" Light Stays On?

I have had this problem before. The "S" light stays on in my '90 Accord, automatic transmission, and it doesn't seem like it wants to change gears while driving. Is there anyway to fix this?

there should be a button on the shifter press that and it should go off the car is in sport mode

I tried that and the light still stays on.

The 4th Gen Honda's were 'blessed' with TCM's (Transmission Control Modules) which had a far higher than normal failure rate. This would be indicated by either the S lamp illuminating, or the D4 Lamp flashing.
The TCM is mounted just to the right of the ECM. Refer:
