Accord Maintance Required Light
While driving around today, just taking it easy, i noticed my maintance required light went from green to a light brownish color. Its a 1995 Accord lx with 106k on it. The oil has to be changed within the next 100 miles, but even so i didnt think the maintaince required light would come on for that.
Any help?
Thanks - Kevin

that light is based on mileage--check your manual and it will tell you at what mileage the maintenance odometer changes--i think its 7500 miles. you can reset it with your key when you do scheduled maintenace.

The light isn't a light at all but a color wheel attached to the odometer. the owners mannual should tell you what to do for the check-up, it shouldn't be anything more than oil and fluids, at worst its to remind you to do a full tune up with water-pump and timingbelt. The important thing to know is that it is a reminder and not an actuall warning light. there is a maintience required light on you dashborard that lights up orange when the computer tells the car there is a problem and you would be best to take it by an advance auto or autozone to get a computer read out (mechanic shops charge anywhere from 10 to 55 bucks where autozone and advance do it for free) anyway the rolling color wheel can be reset by inserting the key (or anything that will fit) into the hole right underneth it and pushing the button down. hope i was helpful

Orange, green, red; it doesn't mean ****. It is a wheel that is attached to your odometer that after 7500 miles turns from green to red; so based off of the "maintenance" light you're servicing your vehicle every 7500 miles (oil changes anyone )
