Default civic sedan problem

so this started happening randomly to my car, its usually when im in a higher gear than i should be at the speed im going but its never been a problem before. it seems like the engine is not getting gas randomy and kind of lags even though im giving it gas. such as im accelerating and a random lag then keeps going. kind of like when you in 3rd sloing down at a stop light and it starts kicking i guess but its when im accelerating. its hard to explain. any help?

no that was just an example. i do not have a cluster with a tach at the moment so i couldnt tell you. basically if im in a higher gear at a lower rpm it bogs like every 5-10 seconds until i get to a higher rpm. but sometimes it just dose it no matter what. its never done it before so dont suggest be in a lower gear ect ect.
