I am planning to turbo a D16Y7, but I wonder if you can turbo a ZC motor because If I'm correct, it's a DOHC. Is it possible or worth doing?

 

the dual cam zc's are pretty crappy with boost, a sohc jdm zc is a pretty stout motor when it comes to it though, but all in all just go with a d16z6, tons of parts for them, and they are proven.

I've got a sick del sol for sale, and it's already got a jdm d16zc! It used to run boost too!

dude you an swoop a d16z6 up for around 2 bills. I ran the **** out of mine (stock) on 1 bar of boost for almost a year (befor I traded it) and it made aroun 240 whp, it would rip the tires off when boost came in in second gear. pretty fun car since everything around my area is DOHC.

 

my Z6 makes over 300whp on 18psi.

 

i think the boosted zcs are pretty respectable.

my one buddy had a stock zc on 10 pounds in his crx made like 240 whp pretty decent. now he is building the motor for 22 pounds.
