I noticed today that when I turn the key to the number 2 spot,my check engine light does not come on for about 5 seconds and then shut off like it should. It stays on. It will stay on for about 45 seconds then it flashes 5 times and turns off.

I went to Advance thinking it was a pending CEL but it came back clear.

Is there anything that will cause this or is it trying to tell me something?

I just changed the cat/exhaust manifold and the upstream O2 sensor, I have no idea if this has any relation just thought I should throw it out there.

 

This may sound like a dumb question, but are you sure it's not the Maintenance Required light? That sounds like how it acts.

 

to add to what unevolved said, the image i attached is the check engine light, and the Maintenance Required light just says "Maint Req"

The Maintenance Required Indicator can be reset.

I know it's an old post but I just found it and I got the same problem. Is it something to worry about?? any ideas?
