Theres No Replacement for Displacement...
Quite possibly the best quote I've ever heard hahaha.
But I do love 60's Mopars, even up to about '74 GTX's, Mopar's just seem to look meaner than other muscle cars. Great looking car, I can't imagine how much that engine set up ran.

And, I'm not "dissing" the car, because I think it's quite well maintained. I just hate that statement, because a lot of muscle-car fans think it's an "end-all" statement, when it clearly isn't.

It sort of is, if you don't take the phrase in some super literal way. It just basically means you can do things other ways, but it's not gonna be the same.
The only time I've ever seen that phrase used, was in situations where a muscle-car fan was mocking someone with a small displacement engine (often it's a Honda). I've never seen it used in a non-derogatory manner.

I don't understand why you don't just make a "Cars & Coffee" thread and put all the pics in there. I like the cars, but I don't think they all deserve their own thread.
Good suggestion. I will start my own photo dump thread when I have more pictures too. I can't restrict it to cars and coffee because I do attend many other events. Plus, rumor has it that the S2000 guys killed the event
Nice. Yeah keep the photos coming, they're the ****.

As in, they understand that technology can make power, but they're saying that's sissy or whatever.
So what was the point of you bringing up an argument?

Are you serious? I didn't "bring up an argument," I just pointed out that muscle car guys do in fact understand that there are other ways of making power, they just look down on them. So saying "technology" doesn't really disprove the point of the statement to someone who might make the claim.
I wasn't trying to shoot down what you were saying, or whatever. I'm not sure how it could've been construed that way, either.

What happens when you mix technology and displacement? You get this:

Boosted LS motors.....scratch that.....N/A LSX's are the kings of the streets. With the new all aluminum LSX being able to be bored to 454 cubic inches, forget VTEC.
I love my Honda, but my first and always true love will be V8 insta-torque.

do you realise how weak that video is?.. the civic(or w/e) doesnt even get on it for more than 3 seconds before he lets off and watches the camaro blow away
thats what you call bs...
now here you go... technology vs displacement.. wtf happens?

^^No, the Civic only kept on the gas UNTIL the Camaro past him and he knew he was just wasting his time/gas/ego.....insert whatever you want to make yourself feel better.
The LSX is beast. **** K swaps, **** turbos. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, built LSX's > just about anything.

This game can be played all stinking day....just because one user will have to one much more power to move his terribly heavy car, and the other doesn't quite have enough to be in the same power to weight.
You think its hard to build a fuel injected turbo big block??
Lol.
Sure a 1976 500 cubic inch Caddilac with 190hp is "big for nothing", but thats not exactly what we are talking about here is it?
