LED cluster doesn't work - bypass dimmer?
Buddy of mine has a sol, had some LEDs in it and didn't like the color he bought.
So I bought the bulbs from him to put in my Sol.
Except they don't work?
All the bulbs are in perfect working order, and the LEDs I put in the indicator lights work perfect but the speedo, tac, fuel gague, and climate control doesn't work (everything controled by the dimmer)
Now he had an EDM cluster (no dimmer stock) and everything worked perfect.
I've tried to unplug mine, completely take it off, and put bulbs in different sockets.
Still doesn't work.
Anyone know any tricks to bypass the dimmer?

Try spinning the led's around in the bases/the bulb holders around, most led replacement bulbs are directional. Also make sure they're getting contact with the bulb holders pins, turing the wire out a bit towards the sides can help.
There is either something really wrong with your led bulbs or something is up with the connections cause I've never had any issues with led bulbs in the standard light housings. I'd suggest checking the leds by themselves and figuring out if they are polarity sensitive (one side positive and one side negative) and then figure out which sides of the factory power pads are which...

If you unplug the dimmer switch on your car, none of your interior lights will illuminate, aside from indicator lights.
You need to test those LED bulbs out somewhere other than from your cluster. Get a 9V battery and attach 2 wires to the terminals, making sure you're aware of polarity. Then tag each appropriate lead on the LED bulb and see if it'lll light up.

I'm curious...What would bypassing the dimmer do for your situation? Are you simply just trying to copy the condition of your friends del sol in hopes it would work?
A dimmer switch will regulate the current going to the interior lights. At full brightness, you will be receiving the same amount of voltage as you would bypassing it.
On your dimmer switch plug, jump the red with the red/black wire together and that will give the interior lights full voltage when you turn the lights on.

You are saddly wrong, led's DO dim, how else do you blend colors with a red/green/blue display?

Led's have an operating range and they will illuminate down to a certian point then they shut off but it's not a simple on off switch.

He doesn't think his dimmer is bad, what he's trying to do is bypass the dimmer and have his interior lights still illuminate when he turns on his lights. Without the dimmer switch plugged in, none of the interior lights illuminate when the lights turned on.
But like I said earlier, unplug the dimmer switch, jump the red wire and red/black wire on the plug, and you'll have the dimmer bypassed.

Draw up a picture if you could, I'm rather retarded.
I leave the plug un plugged and splice and connect the red and black wires together?

Read what I posted....
Do the same thing you did except use the RED and RED/BLACK wires...
Reconnect the black wire you initially cut and replace the dash light fuse now because chances are, its blown.

BTW, You dont have to cut and use a wire nut. You could've jumped the wires at the connector end with a paper clip or similar...
But if you're confused with what I just mentioned, then disregard it completely

appreciate the input and time but it didn't work

I used a new fuse as well.
