Going from ej1 to ej8

Did Honda make any chassis improvements? I know from an aesthetic point of view the interior is much nicer on the ej8, especially 99-00. but what else was improved? I'm debating what coupe to get for a new project.

ej1 rear sub brace is much stronger, 6th gens rear lca are thinner,
