I do not have cf trunk but I do think you can get the trunk that is molded to be used without that license plate insert. So that is an option aswell.

I will search for some pics.

I have one and the center piece fit's great. The back side of the CF deck is pre-marked for the holes to be drilled. Just drill them out a little bigger then needed this way you can adjust the trim piece. The hard part that you will have to worry about is the trunk latch. I had to do quit a bit of trimming and filing to get it to fit right. Also the key cyl. fit due to the trunk being a little thicker in that part. But its pretty easy to make a block off for it. I will try and get a pick up tomarrow so you can see what I'm talking about.

i just just got my car back from the shop and the insert on the side where the lock is does not fit that well. it sticks out a little but everywhere else is flush. might be because of the lock.

i might need to recess it a little. ill bring it back to the body shop tomorrow

just checked...the key cylinder is the problem. any suggestion on how to fix this?

the key cylinder sticks out far thus causing the insert to not sit flush.

I have a question for you guys, does the carbon fiber trunk have the two small holes already punched in it for the emblem that sits right on the top center edge of it?

No marks for the emble.

If you want the trunk lid and hood to fit like stock, they won't. You won't be able to use the key cyl. for the trunk. You will need to make a trim piece to cover it from the back side. Just make sure that you can open it from the lever on the front floor.

Just to let you know my hood doesn't sit flush either. Its a VIS hood and the back corner on the driver side sticks up just a little the rest is pretty good.

i had a bit of problem with the lock on my CF trunk (96/97), i had to shave some of the fiber/resin on the inside to assure a flushed lock.

Exactly, they're not made to OEM specs, they won't ever fit perfect. The hood I had was close but still not exact.

ive turned the little rubber things all the way down but it still sits up high.

is there anyway to keep them down.

maybe put weight on them over night with space heater on the area or anything i can do?

with the trunk, im going to try and recess the cylinder, if not, just bondo and cover the keyhole and just use the inside lever...

If your car has been out in any weather for a period of time the carbon fiber always warps a lilttle. It never fits flush but it still doesnt ever look to bad... Happens to the carbon fiber real bad here where I live due to multiple types of weather.. And they also fade.

Don't bondo over the hole that will be tacky. Just make a cover out of black plastic or a piece of sheet metal and paint it black. When its attached to the of the hole you can't tell it was not designed for it this way.
