Default Rack end bushings clunking dangerous?

Let's just say that I've found that my excessive clunking over every lil bump is due to the steering rack end bushings going out... is it safe to be driving my car around? Will anything "break?

Also, are there any how-to on replacing the rack end bushings or do I have to bring it to a shop? How hard is it? Thanks in advance.

Oh snap.. I just read that only non power steering have these bushings.. I have power steering so I guess that rules out my bushings? So I guess that only leaves me the steering rack and pinion needs to be replaced?
